These past days I have been the ultimate definition of a COUCH POTATOE !
So let me guide you through this sad saaad saaaaaaaad journey ! It consists of eating .. eating .. hmm and EATING ! As I was doing that ... many thoughts began to pop in my head. So here it goes ...
We cannot neglect that most of us have been influenced by westernization. We'll I am not going to generalize .. but for me all I watch, read, listen to, etc. is something from the west. So basically I have this image of independence and freedom later on in the years. I can picture myself waking up in MY apartment .. going to eat breakfast while i'm on the way to work .. basically something close to the scenes we see from Sex and the City.
And here comes the climax to the story .. WE CERTAINLY CANNOT! Why?
Because tradition forbids anything close to that .. I'm not a rebel or anything .. But I feel as if I have a lived in a fantasy of westernization and just when I got too used it .. Someone poked that bubble and wants me to alter the way I live .. I feel confused .. like I dont belong here ..
Help ! .. Anyone ?

well,
you have two choices:
1. either embrace it and live the ''normal'' life just like everyone else and try to shove all that non-sense into the back of your head
2. be a rebel and live your life the way you want to, without paying any kind of attention to society and all that jazz, which will result on all sorts of hardships and obstacles for you in ways you cant even begin to imagine
your choice ;)
I know what you mean .. but being in a private school and getting the advantage to live abroad you get exposed to different things ... But then reality comes into your way .. and it's hard to adjust tp something your are not used to ..
i know what you mean, cz i went through the exact same thing, bs the two choices still remain: either blend in or stick out (and in our society, sticking out is NOT a good thing)
i never regretted sticking out though. not once.
